Dr. John J. Matthes | NYC | Dentist
I was born in Rhinebeck, New York into a large family of six boys and six girls. However, my parents decided to move our family to Northwest Indiana. I grew up in a small rural town. There everyone knew and cared for each other. This environment had a large impact on my decision to serve others. I chose dentistry because it allows me to continue serving others and I love to see people smile! I received my Bachelor degree from Purdue University. I left Indiana to attend a pre-medical/pre-dental post-baccalaureate at the University of Pennsylvania. There, I concentrated on Organic & Cell Biology while also performing research at a local hospital. Finally, I returned to my beloved Empire State! I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry with honors. In addition, I had the pleasure of serving as President of my dental class and NYU Student Body President. I performed my Residency at New York Hospital-Queens and took the initiative of leading the community outreach.
